It may appear strange but i cannot remember the last time that i actually haggled about the price with a bar girl .Non Bar girls yes but bar girls, no . In the morning i  generally give them 3000Baht for the Long Time without the actual amount even being discussed (and i only take the pretty girls). In the last few years i have never been asked for tips, Taxi money etc etc so i guess they are happy and i presume therefore that 3K must be touching the upper limit.

Although i do try to spoil the girls in the room with a nice meal and drinks so i suppose that you could add this on top. But i find that this chills the situation out and both parties are more relaxed.

I have never had a girl refuse a meal brought up to the room. They love it.

The only problem is that around 3pm room service in some Hotels is like a real grind.So if you like your  American Fried Rice but dont mind ending up with noodles plus an egg slapped on top then dont stay at the Narai Hotel in Silom.

I don't know too much about BKK prices but 3000 is certainly on the high side for Pattaya.
Most beerbars in Pattaya the standard longtime price is 1000.  For gogos it would be 1500-2000 and for some special goggos like Superbaby it would be 2500.  I would add 100 baht taxi money to these amounts.  

I think it's bullshit when some guys say if you pay too much you're ruining it for the other guys.  If you want to be generous and make a Thai girl or ladyboy happy, why not?

I also think it's bullshit if some guy is accused of being a cheap charley if he wants to keep his expense down.  But some guys go overboard.  I was on a scuba trip with some German guy and he was bragging how he negotiated a girl down from 500 st to 450 st!   Great prelude to a great roll in the hay?

I suspect that there's many Pattaya ladyboys would be willing to go long time for 500 baht especially if it would involve multiple nights.  But for *me* this would not be fair.  But if you are an expat on a limited budget this is probably the way togo.

I say everybody  should just pay whatever they feel like  paying.  I would never take the sides of EITHER, frankly, because I usually settle somewhere in the middle and could never be accused of being a cheap charlie OR an over-payer.

  but I don't understand these clowns, like that german guy, who  seem to revel in paying as little as humanly possible to these nice people  who are just out to make a living. I have read on other boards where guys pay very small amounts  of cash to these  girls;  isn't the whole purpose of these sex tourism trips to meet ladyboys?  I can't understand how guys can spend all that cash on travel, hotels, food, beer, and then pinch pennies where they matter most.  If I had anal sex with someone for an hour and  had a good load, made a close personal bond with that person and enjoyed her company, I would be embarassed to hand over  12 dollars and think that was enough, no matter what city I am in.

It is like any other industry, it all about supply and demand. In the high season when demand is higher so will the price be. In the low season you can usually get the girls for less.

I believe that if you do not give the girls what they deserve then your time with them will be affected accordingly.

Remember most of the time you get what you pay for!

I hear about this high season/low season price variabilty but I haven't noticed it.

I prefer taking girls from places where price doesn't have be discussed and where the "going rate" is low.

And Ozzie is right even if price is not discussed upfront.
If you know you are going to cheap charlie them, then it will somehow affect the vibe.

I dont consider myself a Cheap charlie but have never paid 3000 B for a long/short time. When I went to phuket in high season, I didnt come close to paying that much. If you overpaid (and IMHO you did) its no wonder you dont get any complaints. For 3000 B I am sure the gals are pretty pleased with that.

Yes sorry that i must add that i was only thinking of BKK when i talk of 3000B. To be honest i havnt spent much time outside BKK these past years on my visits so i have Bankok on the brain. Of Course places like Pattaya are cheaper.


Also i dont travel on any kind of  budget so maybe this makes a difference as 3K does not break the bank,otherwise i suppose that i might consider the matter in more depth.
Anyway one thing is for sure is that the girls are always pleased to see me.

Well I know some of us do not like to say what we pay but in BKK and Phuket I usually pay 1000 ST and 2000 LT. If we go to my hotel I also give them 100 for taxi and if it was beyond the call I give them a tip.

Hey tomcat 3000 any wonder they are alsways happy to see you, but they always seem happy to see me too so maybe 2000 is enough also. But I suppose put us side by side you might get the nod mate

I think the next time im with one of my old girlfriends ill just shove 2000Bt into her hand and try not to make face contact in the process . If anything is said i will just say im only joking, a guy named BK Ozzie said that this was the local happy season rate right now, and then hand over the 3K.

Not sure how I am supposed to read your post tomcat but sounds to me like your having a go at me? My point was just that I give them 2000 LT and have never had any problems with this and the girls always seem happy to see me, so I guess it must be enough.

My personal opinion is 3000 is above what they would normally get but everyone is entitled to give them what they feel is reasonable. I would rather guys over pay than under pay to be perfectly honest though.

I know it is really not relevant either but 2000 THB in AUD is about the same as 3000 in USD.
