  • Scary Reports (...on other sites)

Hey Guys, I'm planning a trip to Pattaya in a couple months.  Usually I've only referred to this forum, but today looked at another (well known) one, and found it to be of just a completely different (and decidedly frightening) nature...

On this other board, there's a whole section basically devoted to how many people complain of being 'drugged' by LB's..they seem to speak as if it's something they're prepared for on a daily basis.  Even from the 'reputable' bars and go go's..being 'drugged' there right after barfining.  One guy even says, 'Oh yeah, I always keep my hand over my drink.'

There's even one (or more) post re: a popular LB trying to drug him in a ST room, and his calling security while she tried to kickbox him into unconsciousness...and all this nonsense like that (and then in general, just all these posts about, 'Oh yeah, she started kick boxing me...blah blah'.

As I've never seen a mention of that kind of thing on this forum -at least not they way I understood it- I'd really appreciate the word on that from some of the more seasoned bm's here (ie, Snick, Mardhi)..know I don't know you, but feel a sense of trust in your posts - ok, fire the approproate jokes here  But seriously...

What's the word on this kind of thing in your opinions?  And why do you think it's spoken about at such length on that other forum...?

I think everything has to be taken in context.

If you go to regular bars and Barfine girls that are known, then pay the correct amount you will have no problems.

If you go out, get stupid drunk, pick a freelancer from the beach rd and then try to stiff them with payment then you will get whats coming.

Of course there is a big area in between.

Be Careful, stay careful and keep your wits about you and you will have a great holiday.
seriously pig headed, arrogant, double standard smart ass poster!

Best advice is don€™t drink too much€¦ stay sober and always stay in control of the situation. Don€™t go anywhere with anyone you don€™t know. Leave the expensive jewelry in the hotel room safe€¦ no need to wear it you€™ll only impress the wrong people and give them a reason to rob you. If you€™re new to the scene then meet up with some of the other BM€™s and go out as a group.

If it€™s your first time in Thailand they can tell€¦ you€™re a rookie and it shows. My first night in Thailand I was alone and inexperienced but I had read the warning and knew what to look out for. I wandered into Nana and ended up in a GG bar on the ground level. I picked this girl and paid her the bar fine.. she went to change and left me alone€¦ this fat woman who I believe was the Mama sang walked passed me with a big smile€¦ she then stops to say something to some girls in front of my table€¦ then I see her hand reach and pickup my beer and then quickly place it back on the table€¦ I could not see what she did to it but it was now fizzing and I€™m sure she put something in it€¦ did I drink it after that hell NO!

I take the bitch back to my hotel and she€™s checking out everything of value in my room€¦. Computer, etc€¦ I just fucked the shit out of that bitch and sent her on her way€¦. End of story. Did they try to drug me? Who knows€¦. But it sure looked that way. Yes it does happen but if you stay sober and in control you€™ll have a better chance of anything bad not happening to you.

Always have travel insurance. Don't be stupid. If you're in a situation where someone is robbing you, let them do so. Make backup of laptops/phones before you go. Always have multiple credit cards when you travel and keep them separate.

I think this happens sometimes also in LOS, but I think the problem is just as big in other big holiday resorts with lots of stupid tourists. The chances something like this happens is not too big and if it happens I'm pretty sure whoever doing this is for financial gain, and not to hurt/kill you. Leaving your drink alone for 30 minutes in a sleezy bar is probably not a good idea in any city.

If you get robbed always contact the police since its much easier when you talk to the insurance company.
          Back in LOS in February

            Lots of good comments above.

I'd add that a threesome does does not double or triple the risk but rather it's risk squared or risk cubed.

But if you must have a threesome pay the barfine or go to Eden Club (no ladyboys at Eden).

Absolutely no threesomes with freelancers unless you're extremely streetwise and have extensive worldwide experience with whores.

Having said that, Thailand is perhaps the very safest P4P scene in the world.

            Have fun!

Dunno why this was hidden in the 'Old Questions' forum. It's a very good topic.

These scary stories are always told by scary people.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction and NEARLY all the times these guys have a bad experience it's something they could have avoided or prevented.

The next time someone tells you they were robbed or drugged or beaten up take a hard look at the person doing the storytelling.

I'll bet a pound to a penny that the person was either drunk or on drugs at the time.

Of course there are some hardened criminal ladyboys around. Most of the other ladyboys (and the cops) know who they are. But still some get through the cracks. There are still a couple of skilled pickpockets doing the rounds on the streets of the major tourist cities.

I was approached by a couple of them only this week in Pattaya by someone I was out bar-hopping with. They quickly realised that we were 'wise to their ways' and moved away from us.

About four years ago a similar thing happened to me in Bangkok... she got the money but I chased her down the street and beat it back out of her!

Violence here will NEVER happen unless you provoke it and/or make the first move. I've been ringside to a a few farang drubbings and cheered merrily along as the drunken twat got what he deserved.

If you are English then stick to mugging the mentally ill, old and infirm because you don't stand a chance against a Thai person. They'll pour all over you like a nest of killer bees.

If you are looking for trouble you'll find it.

The only violence I have seen after hours on Sukhumvit was between two farangs! They bumped into each other and the fight ensued! Pathetic, but typical behaviour of Euro-trash.

Those stories on the 'other forum' are written by people who most likely deserve exactly what they get and whilst they are entertaining (and gratifying) to read, they almost certainly wouldn't happen to anyone reading THIS forum!

We're smarter than that, right, folks?

Great insight here. Reminds me of my last trip. I was walking past Dynasty Inn where this crazy drunk dude was fighting with 2 LBs and telling shit about them to the cop. He was totally insane.

I was with one of the cutest LBs from Nana while they take his ass to the police station. I wonder what happened. I would love to hear his crazy ass story.

If you are going for P4P for the first time be very careful and listen to your brain rather than your dick. Not being drunk will help

LOS is one of the safest places in the world if you know what you are doing.

Learn to pick the right girls. It really helps.

When i first started coming to LOS in the late 80s the LB drugging thing seemed to be a ongoing topic amongst the locals in Pattaya. Also in Bankok the tourist police were useless. Being threatened with a beating unless you paid the inflated bill was common as the bar owners knew they could pull this stunt.. It happened to me twice...the second time the guy pulled knife on me in Patpong 2. it seems a lot more safe nowdays and i havent had a problem for over 10 years.

I must admit that the drugging is not spoken about much any more but i know one guy who got done around a year ago. Im sure it still happens as its a problem in every country.

But i doubt the regular bar girls would be so stupid as to try this caper ....IMO

In 18 years of travelling to Thailand and having been in many a dodgy situations and places, thank fully I have never been drugged. (been robbed once though) Maybe Ive just been plain lucky but I am pretty receptive even when drunk. So I think the secret is to stay reasonably sober and keep your eyes open at all times. Locking valuables away should be second nature in the room ( drunk or not ).. Never trust even the nicest worker....

As a newby I got robbed once many many years ago by 2 LB's on pattaya beach offering a free smoke at 3am.... After the service I was well chuffed and felt great untill I put my hand in my pocket and realizes two and a half thousand Baht was gone quicker than they were...... Only happened once but woke me up to reality...... kept that quiet all these years.. and felt like a right after..

                      be safe and enjoy

                        Procedures, procedures, procedures.

Before leaving hotel room to hunt - lock down your room and secure valuables into safe or locked bag.

Return to hotel room and while she is in shower secure wallet - credit cards previously locked away.  Leave easy access to fee for service in a drawer.

Drink soda water or coke if you are going to bar fine, ie stay sober.

Bar fine girl you approach not visa versa.

                        Short time not long time.

Never bar fine same girl twice.

                        Cheers

Sticking to ones who work in the bars offers a level of safety. They can't just disappear without consequences. They not only would lose their job, but the bar has all the identification on them. Don't leave out temptations and beyond that never allow a situation where they are within range of your valuables while you can't see them. For instance, I roll up my clothes and put them on the shower partition wall of ST rooms so I can always see them. After countless experiences (I am in the 3 figure league) I have never had a problem either ST or LT and I have 10-20 drinks everytime and don't have a safe. I choose carefully on chemistry in addition to looks and am extremely apprehensive of selecting freelancers, though in some cases opt for them if they seem safe enough. I realize the odds could catch up with me anytime but so far so good. Don't let your guard down, but there are a lot of honest ones out there.

Some of the Pattaya post 3AM beach streetwalkers are definately in the " trash" category and my feeling is thats where your goner get problems . Newbies should avoid these like the plague...

                              Always remember the first rule:

If something feels 'wrong' then it is.

Listen to those niggling voices in your head and just walk away, if the 'alram bells' are ringing then run
