There are plenty of well-adjusted transsexuals whose only source of distress is their gender dysphoria. For those who do suffer additional mental health issues, these other burdens (i.e., personality disorders, depressive disorders, etc.) are most likely separate from their transsexualism. But even if there is a relationship, treating one co-morbid condition may provide a benefit to the individual, even if the other co-morbidities are not addressed by that particular treatment.

SRS may improve gender dysphoria, but it will not likely do anything for a personality disorder ("make them sane"). But not all transsexuals have personality disorders or other psychological co-morbidities.

"Crazy" is damn near meaningless, and for that I apologise.

I started to be more precise in my terminology because a penis-obsessed cock-bandit was trying to confuse transsexualism with cutting behaviours.

Whether this was done intentionally or just out of pure stupidity, I don't know, but the purpose was part of an attempt to hijack the thread into an anti-SRS rant.

The words I used are not actually "big", and they do have specific meanings. I'm not trying to impress anyone, least of all the mob.
