You guys are complaining about 30-50 bucks for long time? How cheap can you get!!! These are still human being by the way. I guess you might be able to go to Mali in Africa and score some babes for a few moon pies. I'm not into making hookers rich, but when you start bitching about shelling out 20 USD for a LB or a girl, you need to start looking in the mirror.

That is Poy (I think), what makes you think she is in Cambodia ?
She was in Cascades last week

( I know she is Thai, and not from anywhere near Cambodia )
Because her picture was from the Mambor's home page.

I can kind of guess what happened. Some smart person said "oh, they're charging X in Thailand so that's what we should charge too, so there!". Well guess what, the real hard working people of Cambodia make below $0.20 an hour so why do the bargirls suddenly pull out of thin air a number that is 100x an honest wage? That makes no sense. It's one thing to handsomely compensate someone but at some point it becomes ludicrous. Let's face it, if they chose the number $200 or even $2000 for a ST there's bound to be people out there who would exclaim anyone who scoffs at those prices is a cheap skate.

Whenever I buy anything, the price I am willing to pay has nothing to do with how much I can afford and has everything to do with how much it is worth. It is value for money. But not everyone thinks that way and that's ok as we are all free to spend our money however we choose.

A lot of the reason for high prices in cambodia is due to many NGO'S and U N.
Spent some time travelling through cambodia from vietnam in 2004. I enjoyed Siem Reap, but i was there at that time to visit Ankgor Wat. Did spend some evenings in a bar called Zanzibar, i think there was one LB in there from time to time.
Never been to casino's in poipet as i dont gamble, but the town is a pit, nearly on par with some of India's border crossings.
Where is LB bar in siem reap in relation to main street or Zanzibar pub???
i'm going where the sun keeps shining.................

I think siem reap has changed a lot in the last couple of years, a bit of a building frenzy due to japs and koreans fucking everything up .
Dont mean to sound like a racist pig,but once these places are discovered by there money we are all fucked I stayed in a place called the green guest house, a lovely house tucked away, i was paying 10us a night but the downside is no partners and a curfew, which i think is 11pm,not recommended.
As you could imagine i was not all that popular rolling back at 3-4am in the morning from a bar called zanzibar.

So i take it that the curfew was not enforced then. .and also no partners.....sounds like an old 1950s London Bed & Breakfast....

has anyone else ever had a curfew imposed

yeah, in Penang on a visa trip

I arrived on a Sunday a.m. of a long weekend but didn't know before hand, it was a Chinese/Malay guest house on Chulia Street (I think)
They shut the doors at 23:30 or midnight, can't remember all I know is me and some other chap who was staying there rocked up at 2am piss drunk and banging on the shutters which woke half the street whilst the tosser inside pretended he couldn't hear us.

he did reluctantly let us in eventually, after about 40 minutes, but we were kindly asked to leave the next day

                      I've made kathylc

                        .
there are quite a lot of beggers and there was a couple of amputees about, maybe from mines.
A lot of upmarket hotels on the outskirts of siem reap, which are more convenient for the temples, but only a short moto ride from the centre,i should imagine the 3-4-5* hotels dont mind joiners and are use to it,but local guest houses might be ok, bearing in mind i have only stayed in one.
I hired a moped and driver for 8us to travel around the temples and payed 20us for entry to ankgor wat. This has probably gone up now?
A bar i spent some time in called zanzibar is situated on phlauv sivatha, they take us dollers as do most places(riels and dollers accepted). zanzibar was always busy with a steady flow of GG's and one LB at the time.Be careful about STD's. Eating options are good and a place called THE IVY was really good ,international food and a pool table. There is a bar/guest house called THE RED PIANO, angerlina jolie was supposed to have stayed here when they filmed tomb raider. This place is really nice with a real ambiance about it. Angkor what is another little bar in town but more of a traveller bar full of temple spotters. I travelled back from siem reap to poipet and it cost 10us,this is not comfortable as it takes 6hours on a very old bus,but at the time money was tight and i wanted a week in pattaya. These buses go right through to BKK,but i hired a private car to go to pattaya from aranya prathet(thai side of border) this cost me a lot, about £40 and took 4hours.
Siem Reap is probably alot more tourist friendly now,but may have lost some of it's charm.
                        Happy travels

Update Phnom Penh and Siem Reap!!!!!!!!

The Plam Bar on street 136 in Phnom Penh has 4 girls now and they are not long in there, before someone BF's them, some cuties or at least trying. Also Brazas(Spelling, its has a yellow neon light looks like Banana) Bar on street 104. They have some real cuties also and playful.

Stopped in the Mambor bar in Siem Reap and big selection of girls, the place was empty and the girls asleep when I got there about midnight. $10 BF, $30 for the girls

thanks for reporting, these are good news, especially for those who have to explain at home why they are going there. Angkor Wat sounds a lot better than Pattaya
