Cambodian king backs gay marriage

Cambodia's King Norodom Sihanouk has shown that advancing years are no barrier to an open mind and liberal attitude.
After watching television images of gay marriages in San Francisco, the 81-year-old monarch has decided that single sex weddings should be allowed in Cambodia too.

He expressed his views in a hand written message on his website which has proved extremely popular in Cambodia.

The king said that as a "liberal democracy", Cambodia should allow "marriage between man and man... or between woman and woman."

He said he had respect for homosexual and lesbians and said they were as they were because God loved a "wide range of tastes."

Sihanouk, who is currently in Beijing for medical treatment, also said that transvestites should be "accepted and well-treated in our national community."

Such views are not widespread in Cambodia, but the king is hugely revered, although he is a constitutional monarch and has no executive powers.

Bearing in mind that:

1. This is for LBs, not GGs
2. Siam Reap is a huge tourist destination
3. This ain't Phnom Penh
4. I regularly buy JW Nut instead of Nutella

These are outrageously high prices!! Massage, food, hotels, clothes, drugs girls, transprt etc. are all way cheaper in PP than BKK.

To me, this smacks of high collusion amongst the girls and import of Bangkok norms by the former Cascades employee. These prices are about double of what I'm used to seeing in PP for GG. This is not price creep, this is prices on rockets.

I'll check again with the few LBs that I know in PP, girls that I met on my last trip, which, admittedly, was way back in August.

I found the prices depressing, but was biting my lip. Cambodia used to be the cheap place to go, but with prices like that why bother? That is so outrageous when you put it in context with the cost of living there and compared to what it used to be just a few years ago when it was a small fraction of those prices.
