Probably is more like they are not looking for short time sessions with guys that just want to drop by for a couple hours. They want to be treated like a lady and taken out for a proper night on the town. A majority of ladyboys in Thailand would take a long term relationship with a foreigner, if they can get it.
There is also super hot ladyboys that have good jobs, own businesses or have family money. So they have no need to work in bars or as escorts but still want a good generous boyfriend.

I'm not sure how you can agree to a long term relationship with someone until you spend time with them and have sex. It also depends what is meant by "long-term".
