Why Do They Hate Us?

This idea came from my other thread.

So why do the majority of heterosexuals hate, sometimes with violent passion, Ladyboys, and us, admirers of Ladyboys.

After Grunyen asked me this, I read a bit more looking, and a couple of academics say it is because of 2 main things...

a. Patriarchal societies have made macho the critical thing to be accepted in society. Men who have sex with men (they don't distinguish LBs as not men), are weak because one is 'receptive' which is considered effeminate. So men hate us because they think of us as weak men.

b. Psychologists in the 1930s classified homosexuality as being a mental disorder, and disease, and families grew to think of homos that way, and were disgusted with them. They had to be put into institutions to get cured.

So, now, I think of this, and I can't imagine judging a hetero for what he does in bed with his GG, or what type of GGs he goes out with.

But why can't I invite my friends to my house and have a Bar-B-Q with my beautiful, feminine LB? Who, by the way, is the nicest LB/GG I've ever known, sweet, quiet, not bizarre, clean, honest...far better qualities than many of my GG girlfriends / wives, and my friends GG friends.

What a fucked up mental state this world is in.

For those who are not narrow minded & are more open ( that's probably us ), mainly people who have travelled & have seen more than there back yard & local town, they have a much higher tolerance for "things" that don't fit into a nice neat catagory & / or box.
   The hetro finds us all a threat, but is probably jealous as hell inside that he / she cannot "play" outside his / her narrow set of rules formed by there lack of overall experience & unwillingness to experiment. They have been conditioned to believe rights & wrongs & thats the way its going to be. To defend there position they "attack". These are people who will fall into there graves nice & neatly packaged, having experienced very little & wishing they had done a great deal more with there lives. The vast majority of my "hetro" friends have admited in private they are jealous of the things I have done & experienced, but cannot bring themselves to do the same. Mainly due to restrictive wife / husband / family.
   We are outside the norm, no catagorey, no box to fit in, therefore we must be "bad"!! Well, I'll remain "bad" & continue to enjoy my life the way it is, I have just enjoyed some crazy times in Sao Paulo Brazil with GG's & TS. Mr / Mrs Hetro would probably have had a cardiac arrest had they been present. But it is such a shame that these people are so narrow minded they cannot accept this particular group for who we are & the people we like.
     Unfortunately the west 'ain't ready for us & the 3rd gender yet, & perhaps never will be.

Ok, here's some mind twisters for you...

The Two-Spirit people in the Native American Indians were considered higher-level beings because they had the 'spirit' of both men and women and thus had better insights into life. Think about it a bit. Don't you think a LB has more insight into both women and men than anyone else on the planet?

For my own view, I see societies were separated in the old days where they didn't care about 'norms'. Westernization brought about 'norms' that had to be followed by everyone (and thus intolerance of anyone who didn't follow the norms).

The internet is making minority groups larger, like us on this forum. How many LB admirers did you know before you joined this site? Now you know thousands. By making minority groups larger, my view is we will eventually gain enough strenght to back to where Two-Spirit people (LBs) and us (their admirers) will once again be accepted. There are just too many of us, and growing.

As a side note, each of us is, or I hope he is, an advocate for this acceptance, and does, in small ways, influence the thoughts of his friends on the topic.

I would certainly agree on that point !! I find many LB's to be more femine than most western women.

Whether we / they will ever be accepted into the western society,...... personally I doubt it, but I hope some day it will happen.

Personally, if everyone of us here on this forum can convince just one friend of ours to change his point of view about the third sex, we would instantly double the world's populace of like-minded individuals.

I would like to report that I have so far change 2 good friends way of looking at LBs, and am proud to say that one has even had his first LB experience last week. Now, I'm not very militant about my own views, but deep down I just wish for more tolerance in this world. So I will continue to show the way for my "friends" and hopefully find more converts.

I don't see a particular love of LB community by the Gay population generally, and clearly in that group there is often the active/passive dicotomy. Of course the source of many LB may have had it's genisis IN the Gay community, or at least Gay association.

Most of my normal friends know of my prediliction. I was showing a group of them some recent Thai pictures. Amongst the Ooh's & Ah's & I'd do that, sexy blah blah I mentioned that some in the picture were LB. "Which ones", I was asked, "cause they are HOT". ALL of them was my reply. :-) Left them to digest that one. They still thought they looked hot!

It is in the nature of all animals to fear that which we do not know. Hetero's do not hate you, they fear you because they do not understand you. Fear is dealt with in two ways: either avoid the object of that fear or destroy it (remove it from the immediate environment). The human animal tends to operate on the principle of destruction. However, most societies have determined that we are not enough of a danger to the group to warrant destruction - especially since there are so many of us and prior attempts to eradicate us have failed so miserably - so they give us certain legal protections. Still, the fact that the group as a whole does not fear us does not eradicate the fear of the irrational individuals. My cousin will not remain in the same room with someone he knows is HIV+.

i remember reading an article once where someone decided to do an experiment. they took a number of blokes some straight totally against gays, some straight but did not care and some gays/bis, they fitted some electro type things onto their bodies and parts to measure how turned on they would get!

If Humans were accomodating to every species in the ancient past we certainly wouldnt be here now to ponder the subject. Think Charles Darwin.......we didnt arrive at the top of the food chain by being nice to other animals and humans.

Fear of the unknown is wired into the brain and as much as we want to be accepted one just has to realise it may take time for cultures to change.
