Why do they become ladyboys?

Donnnny, I have to disagree with your ideas about this - but will not rule out the possibility that some families might support this.

I think it is a stretch to think that most lb families support and encourage them to become lb bar girls, because there are plenty of lbs who do not work in the play for play (p4p) business. Probably more do not work in p4p than those who do. Also today there are increasing numbers of lbs coming from middle and upper class families as well - so these lbs do not need to send money to their families.

The real reason why they become lbs is more complicated than what we can attempt to theorize on this forum, but it seems fun to try!

well i will beg to dissagree mate
1st the thai middle class and upper class is not that big , and second i would say once a so called non working girl knows the amount that can be made by working in the p4p sceen, they will soon be doing it. just my opinion.
ps met a few strait girls but no ladyboys.all the ladyboys ive chatted to and emailed. claiming to be non working, have always turned out to be working or after money for sex

So far since living in Thailand for last 5 months I have met about 20 ladyboys outside the P4P scene. I had also met or spent time with about 10 non P4P girls on my previous trips. I have also been with over 400 P4P ladyboys in Thailand alone.

Out of the 30 or so non P4P girls I have had sex with about half. Why is it that only one ever asked me for more money that cab fare?

I must say what a ridiculous notion that the majority become ladyboy's because they want to earn money as hookers or there families have forced them into becoming ladyboy's so as to make money.

Actively seeking out customers and occassionally getting paid for sex are two different things for a start. Based on my experience at least in Thailand it the money option is about the least plausible.

Well you're half right! The first eleven words... It's reasonable to assume that these days most parents and families are pretty supportive of their childrens sexual identities whether it be gay, lb or whatever.

To suggest that they are raised to become hookers for farangs is unrealistic and not even feasable. Poor Thais living in rural areas don't plan years ahead for anything let alone the reassignment of their childrens sexual identity for financial gain!

It's more realistic to believe that some sons and daughters are sold off or lent out to raise money or pay off debts. Underaged sex in Thailand is endemic and widespread. It rarely affects us farangs though.

I can't believe I agree with Stogie. But the first part of the above post is correct. However, I cannot speak for the "sold off or lent out to raise money to pay off debts" -- that is pure speculation based on zero experience of Stogie is my guess -- but nevertheless, may be true, I don't know.

However, Donnnny, your post is so off, it's hard to believe you have ever been to Thailand. And with zero doubt, you have never been to rural Thailand to visit a LB family, nor been with non P4P LBs.

And, thankfully, a brain has arrived in Thailand, and his name is Ozzie. Ozzie is the first person I know, aside from perhaps Stewart, whose experience is unbiased, is deep and getting deeper, and judges facts vs ill-concieved fantasized projections.

what i may suggest to you is that your eyes are closed.Have you ever been to the local brothels in issan?? 10 bhat alley??? well i have, thats where you walk in and all the kiddys are doing the home work while waiting for customers.Not many falangs go to these places as there off the beaten track.( i walked strait out)not into kidds for sale.
