  • Radiation is good for you !

With the terrible earthquake and resulting tsunami that have devastated Japan, the only good news is that anyone exposed to excess radiation from the nuclear power plants is now probably much less likely to get cancer.

This only seems counterintuitive because of media hysteria for the past 20 years trying to convince Americans that radiation at any dose is bad. There is, however, burgeoning evidence that excess radiation operates as a sort of cancer vaccine.

Yes, her degree in nuclear physics must have prompted her to get whole brain radiation treatment!

Not the most reliable source of scientific or medical information available.

      QUOTE
Although reporters love to issue sensationalized reports about the danger from Japan's nuclear reactors, remember that, so far, thousands have died only because of Mother Nature.
      END QUOTE

This is quoted by her and i agree with that 100%. Nature will kill far more people in the way of Earthquakes and Tsunamis than Radiation from these incidents.

The main problem is that another earthquake just as big may follow in two/ three months time due to the way these bigger quakes pan out

The issue of Radiation is complex but im not sure about the exposure benifits she talks about. She quotes statistics but one has to be carefull as anyone can manipulate these

Her other comments about the trace elements such as selenium, copper, zinc, manganese, etc. as being "poisons" is fear mongering.

These trace elements are essential for the proper functioning of enzymes in our body and taken in the proper amounts maintains good health.

Her misunderstanding of this makes all the rest in her article suspect.

The teaparty (facts don't matter) members would probably shoot each other arguing the finer points of the 'constitution' and whether or not it was being followed.
