Curious how many LBS go back to being men?

I've heard of it before, but I wonder if anyone knows if it has happened before among the thai folks, and how it usually ends up.

I've seen the effeminate manager person at KC3 who seems to be someone like that.

I'm curious as well if they actually attempt to blend in as mainstream guys (straight acting or even to the extent of getting married), or do they simply stay on the fringes presenting as effeminate gay men (like the KC3 person)?

I see so many young LBs there, almost emerging from a production line. But the older, female presenting ones seem almost a rarity.

In europe we see many of them age 30+ make a last attempt for some cash before it´s time to....

I know a few LBs who are in the 30+ category, albeit low 30s. They still look fantastic and have made no mention of reverting back to men. I guess I tend to think the ones who really believe they are women inside will stick it through their old age b/c they couldn't imagine going back to living in a man's body.

I think Jaidee wrote previously of seeing some who'd gone back to being men, but very effeminate ones at that. I think that it's been commented on that many didn't have the full life expectancy of most men or women, due to abuse, drugs, alcohol, and disease. In other words, many may never reach the age where they make this decision. It's not all of them, but I got the impression that from the sample of LBs that board members met, it could be quite many.

This kind of question is impossible to answer, simply because no one knows. There are not stats kept on this kind of thing. Any comments are basically speculation.

Of course postop lbs would not revert to being men. As for how many preop lbs will do this - I would guess those that have been on hormones and had surgeries done would be less likely. However, this is just a guess. I think the numbers would be probably low.

I believe the enigma stems from what sort of cirlce of friends or lifestyle one is involved with. If one is heavily immersed in an industry where youth is of prime consideration, then its completely understandable why the older ones are nowhere to be seen.  
As I am a proud member of the first and only TS support group in the Philippines called STRAP, I am very much happy to break the myth and enlighten you that we do have several members in their 30s, 40s and even 60s who are flourishing in their own ways. And yes, theyre preop even. They have achieved some sort of stability (in varying degrees) and would usually prefer living in stealth. Some are single and some have long-term partners.  
And no, unfortunately I dont have the contact information of these single, fabulous, mature girls.

Personally I don't see the point in reverting back to being a 'man'. Sure we're bound to look less than perfect in this beauty-obsessed world, but I don't see how it is easier to live as a man. Wearing slacks and putting on a shirt just doesn't solve life's problems- I say put on your dancing shoes and stay fabulous! Might as well be a fabulous old crone than to be some weird effeminate old 'man'. Let's all look up to Vivienne Westwood!

Its just academic curiosity. I happened to see a few of what I suspect to be retired LBs near where I live? They seemed though to have reverted to being men, but pretty effeminate ones at that.

One is a drink stall assistant with a guy name on the name tag, but tattoo'ed brows, boobs and a lispy voice. Its quite hard to perceive any semblance of the fabulous life she might once have had? But the ravages of aging do scare me terribly. I wouldn't want to live beyond 50.

One more I see vibes more like a dandy older man though. A ton of jewellery, tattoed brows (again), leftover boobs made me suspect that he had a more interesting past.

I saw Gong from guessbar? The bartender whom I think is one of the more decent look ones after reverting back.

I don't dare to ask their stories though. I wonder if i'd start to look like my dad 30 years on   but just a more flamer version.

jaymee, the odds of you looking like that when you get older are remote - you are postop and are taking hormones - there is only a minuscule amount of testosterone in your body now.

As a postop you take lower doses of female hormones to keep yourself feminine without the stress on the body that preop dosages require.

So, relax, enjoy life and don't be too fixated on the future - you're lovely and will stay that way!

I think socioeconomic status matters, too.  Consider any elderly woman you meet working in a menial job versus one who's had a professional career.  If they're weather-beaten, it's just going to be more dramatic how it affects them.  Add to it a rough time as a transgender, and it may be quite hard to keep asserting their femininity in the face of the hardships of life.  A GG doesn't have to defend her femininity on a frequent basis in the same way, and if her employment path is better (or she marries a rich husband), then her looks may remain graceful for a long time.  Lack of opportunity can be a sad state of affairs, but it's also how life plays out for many people.

Indeed it does! Come over to HK and see the 70 + y.o. hunchback ladies pushing the carts with aluminum cans and cardboard on the way to the recycling workshops
Or the elders living in the cages
No matter man, woman or TG if having such a life will look like trash!
