Here is an interesting documentary about Boten in Laos. There are a few segments about a ladyboy cabaret that opened there a few years ago, but it is also interesting to see how development causes societal change, first when the casino opened in 2007 then closed in 2011. Now it is going to be a gateway for the high speed railway that will connect Laos to China (and has extended to include Thailand).
