if you look for the tallest building on Phuket, directly in the
middle of Patong Beach, you will find the Royal Paradise hotel, a 4-
star place with beautiful views and nice rooms for about 4000Baht
per night. more importantly, this is the marking point for the
Royal Paradise complex, which is a horseshoe-shaped road, one way in
and one way out. this place is loaded with ladyboys; there are
about 15 bars in this place, and even though most are primarily gay-
boy bars, there are 3 or 4 which have LOTS of ladyboys in them,
usually around midnight. The Tangmo does a great cabaret show at
Midnight, and before and after the show the girls that perform are
milling around and flirting with the customers, most of whom don't
give a shit because they are there for boys, not ladyboys. there
are about 15 girls that work there and some are VERY cute. The My
Way across the street is similar; show at midnight, with 10-12
nice-looking ladyboys working the cabaret there.
On the other side of the horseshoe is the Koh Joy, which is
ladyboy-only; Nick from Australia and his ladyboy wife Ningnong
have a great restaurant/dinner club, and the food there is great.
You can have dinner and watch the show, which starts at about 9 and
has 10 nice ladyboys [banana is the hottest, IMO] doing madonna
and jennifer lopez songs in nice outfits. at around 1030 they will
walk around the place and flirt with the customers, and since this
is a dinner club there are a lot of married people in here, so if
you want one of the girls, she is basically yours. same as at the
Tangmo, the Boat Bar and the My Way; if you see a girl that you
like, the odd's are very slim that someone else will take her from
you like at a beer bar or a go-go bar.
Also, the Royal Paradise has ladyboys walking around every night
between about 11 and 2AM, about 40-50 of them, either walking to
their bars to work or coming home from them. If you walh around
this complex between 11 and 2, you are guaranteed to find a ladyboy
that you like; set up a date and meet her later if you don't like
watching cabaret shows [ i personally get tired of them very
quickly].
Just another reason to visit Phuket and stay in Patong
beach; you have Royal Paradise, Soi Bangla [which has at least
another 50 ladyboys freelancing and hanging at the beer bars], and
the Simon cabaret, which has another 25 or so very beautiful
ladyboys working there. All in all, there are more ladyboys in a
very small radius than in any other city in all of Asia, right
there on Patong Beach. No lie; check it out.
added bonus; the crystal-clear waters of the andaman sea,
golfing, motorbiking, sailing, diving, and great seafood. am I a
salesman for the Thai Tourism Authority? No. do i love Phuket
Island? Yes!
