  • Thailand declares Martial Law a tourist attraction?

So Thailand is trying to stop the decrease of tourist coming to the country after the recent coup. Instead of lifting martial law like the tourist bureau wants, they want to spotlight martial law as a boon for tourists.
They say tourists are actually safer under martial law, even though it limits their freedom and movement in some parts of the country. In fact, they are thinking of offering martial law tours? Only in Thailand...
So does this mean they may start having a weekly coup de tat for tourist purposes?
Roll the tanks into Bangkok, while excited tourists cheer them on?
Thailand will be the Authoritarian Disneyland for all that crave such a thing?

The biggest problem i see with martial law is that it states: No member of the Military can be held responsible for any action against anyone during martial law. Which means any soldier can do anything they want without fear of reprisal. This should please tourists???? Maybe they will let foreigners help overthrow the government for a fee?

Thai tourism officials have suggested a novel way to attract foreigners to the country’s beaches, temples and mountains – promote life under a century-old martial law that was imposed as the army seized power in a bloodless coup in May.

Officials in Thailand say they are preparing to add martial law to a list of tourist attractions.
